North Star Village is presenting this special program as part of their monthly “Aging Well” series. They have reserved 12 seats for Eastside Village members. We encourage carpooling - let the EV office know if you can drive or if you’d like to ride with someone else. Downsizing and Letting Go is designed to help us begin streamlining our surroundings and freeing ourselves of belongings we don’t need anymore. Expert speaker is Jill Williams, a clinical services specialist with Multnomah County’s Older Adult Behavioral Health Team. She will focus on fundamental questions that can help us understand what drives most of us when it comes to acquiring and saving items. Why do we save? What meanings do our possessions carry? Once we start to understand these things, we can work on effective strategies for letting go.

WHY?? I live on the far North East boundary of the Eastside Village and it takes me about half an hour to get to most of the EV groups and meetings. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I‘m hoping other nearby (or far away!) members will join me. Volunteers and family/friends are welcome, too. Two advantages of Shari‘s: there‘s plenty of parking, and they serve decaf coffee! (Also very good food.) Registration is required by 8 AM the day before. For more information call me, Val Johnstone, at 503-477-4157.
