Former Eastside Village Chair JoAnn Herrigel and member Ellen Howard talk about villages with Allison Frost on OPB's Think Out Loud - listen here.

Eastside Village is part of a growing national movement enabling older adults to age at home and in their community safely, affordably, happily, and healthily for as long as they choose. This kind of village is not a building, real estate development, or retirement community. It is a coordinated network of volunteer and professional services.

Launched in October 2015, Eastside Village serves 23 Portland neighborhoods on the east side of the city, from the Willamette River to 122nd, and from I-84 to Portland’s southern boundary.
